Last Week In Kindergarten 2019

We had a great time at our Winter Extravaganza where we used different materials to make winter inspired creations. Some of us drew and painted winter trees using sharpies and bubble wrap, we worked on beading pipe cleaners for a chandelier, we made penguins, finger painted some Christmas lights, made reindeers using popsicle sticks, made snowmen using loose parts, made gingerbread men in disguise, and more! Thank you to our parent volunteers for their help. Please see below what the students had to share about this day. 1

We did another science experiment as well with a candy cane. We first predicted what would happen if we dropped a candy cane in boiling water and observed what changes happened and if our predictions were right. We encourage you to try this at home as both AM and PM kindergarten had different results- which is fascinating!

We practiced tons for our Winter Concert and performed beautifully as well.

On the last day of classes, we had a special visit from Indigo Circus as well where we watched them perform really amazing tricks. We joined our grade 3 buddies to make gingerbread houses as well using graham crackers and royal icing and candy! Students were excited to take their houses home to share with their families.

We wish all our students and families a restful and fun break. We look forward to seeing everyone back in 2020. Classes resume January 7th. Please don't forget to check your child's folder for their work and a special gift for their families as well (Fused Glass).

PM Winter Extravaganza:

Thank you to all of our wonderful PM parent volunteers for their help! We had so much fun working with you!! - PM Kindergarten Students

We got a letter from the gingerbread man.  He said that he could really use our help.  Every year, he spends that whole month of December running, running, and running away from people and animals who are trying to eat him.  "It's really exhausting!"

We wanted to help by making a disguise for him.  We had fun making him look like something else- anything but a cookie. - PM Kindergarten students

We also liked making a reindeer using popsicle sticks, sparkles and glitter glue.  We can't wait to bring them home.  - PM Kindergarten students

"I liked making a pattern using beads to make an icicle for our chandelier."  - Jacob

"We liked making snowy tree pictures with our Mom using paper, glue and white paint." - Jayden and Allison
